Sam Sherman is an architectural designer based in Los Angeles.

His multifaceted expertise spans both architecture and engineering. With a deep curiosity for design process, craft and artistry, materials, and the complex and intricate relationship between buildings, their contexts, and the natural world, Sam brings a holistic approach towards mediating spatial ideas. Having previously worked as a mechanical engineer specializing in novel power generation machines, he integrates his technical knowledge of systems, material fabrication, and processes as a parallel tool in developing his work.

Sam’s approach is characterized by merging a commitment to sustainability and innovation with craft, labor, temporality, and quality. He aims to create spaces that deal with ideas precisely but also resonate with the vacillating pressures of culture, social conditions, and environmental imperatives. His interdisciplinary background enables a unique ability to envision and implement creative designs that redefine the boundaries of architectural possibility.
